Campo ART FEST 2023
Welcome to our seventh CAMPO Artfest, an annual celebration of Creativity, Community + Connection. This year feels as expansive as ever with the additions of a third day, a Film Forum of short documentaries and a rocking Sound Sessions. We’re excited to introduce you to an inspired group of artists from near and far, invited to Garzon to create site-specific work around the theme RADICAL NATURE: The Roots of Land + Water. In the months leading up to the festival, through online meetups with guest speakers imparting their wisdom, the participating artists bonded over exploring the environment through an ancestral lens, creating transatlantic conversations and collaborations. RADICAL NATURE invokes a reconnection with the wisdom of the ancestors, past civilizations and cultures who lived harmoniously and sustainably with nature, embodying a reciprocity that has been severed and is seeking to be restored. This CAMPO Artfest cohort dug deep into their roots, and wondrously connected, creating an ecosystem, like a living organizing of individual works that correspond and converse, and hopefully inspire a deeper reflection.
Este año ofreceremos transporte gratuito desde Maldonado, en la Plaza San Fernando, y desde Rocha, en la Plaza Independencia, hacia CAMPO Artfest. Los puntos de partida serán frente a las iglesias de cada plaza y los cupos serán asignados por orden de llegada.
Estamos profundamente agradecidos a la Embajada de Estados Unidos en Uruguay @usembassymvd por patrocinar este transporte y permitir que muchas personas puedan asistir al festival. Como uno de sus objetivos, la Embajada de Estados Unidos busca apoyar propuestas que amplíen las actividades artistico-culturales en el interior del país, con particular interés en la descentralización y democratización de las artes

This year we'll be offering free transportation from Maldonado, at Plaza San Fernando, and from Rocha, at Plaza Independencia, to CAMPO Artfest. The departure points will be in front of the churches at each square, and seats will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
We are deeply grateful to the United States Embassy in Uruguay @usembassymvd for sponsoring this transportation and enabling many people to attend the festival. The embassy's mission is to expand the cultural offering in the country's most remote areas, democratize art and culture, and support initiatives in the interior.
